Zach Gibson Wins 2008 Buckeye Super Sprints Championship Title

Marysville, OH……..2008 was a year of tragedy and triumph for third generation open wheel racer Zach Gibson.
He started out the season in the newly formed Buckeye Super Sprint Series with a car he built himself, and his
first year as an owner and driver. The 19 year old Gibson was successful right out of the box with a win at
Toledo Speedway on May 16th and another win on May 31st at Sandusky Speedway for the Ohio based
pavement series.  Zach was on an early points lead, and everything was going great for him.

On July 18th while Zach was racing at Kilkare Speedway, his Uncle Terry Gibson was in a fatal accident while
driving a supermodified race car at Toledo Speedway.  Zach got the news from his dad Larry, and was asked if
he wanted to race or go home.  Zach was very close to his Uncle Terry, and the two have raced together for the
past three years- he considered Terry his mentor.  Zach chose to race that night.  He was on a mission to honor
his Uncle Terry with a win, and that he did. Holding back his grief- he won at Kilkare that night and was barely
able to speak in victory lane as he dedicated the win to his Uncle Terry.

Zach comes from one of the most well known families in open wheel racing, with his grandfather Todd Gibson, a
supermodified racing legend and his dad, Larry is an ARCA midget champ, along with his uncles, Gene Lee,
Terry and Jeff all being successful open wheel racers from the Midwest. The outpouring from the racing
community after Terry’s loss to the Gibson family was tremendous; but Zach felt that there was one way he
could continue to honor his uncle’s memory in the sport they loved the most -- win the championship and keep
winning.

Zach went on to win again at Columbus Motor Speedway on August 2nd, and clinched the Buckeye Super Sprint
Series Championship by August 23rd at Sandusky Speedway, in the series inaugural season.  Zack earned a
total of 5 wins and set three fast times, with a season ending lead of 70 points over 2nd place in the overall
standings.

This championship will also mark the 40th anniversary since the last championship his grandfather Todd Gibson
won in his famed #0 “Flintstone Flyer”.  Zach continued that tradition carrying the #00 and “Flintstone Flyer III”
on his race car.

“This championship is all for my Uncle Terry,” says Zach. “I could go to him for anything. He was with me for my
first win ever at Toledo in 2006.  He was with me racing almost every Saturday night.  Terry was the best to race
with, and the most fun. He was more than my uncle, he was my friend. We finished 1-2 in the WSoA
championship two years ago, I won it - but it was so much better being up there with him.  It will keep me going
if I continue to race in his memory.”

Zach will receive the Buckeye Super Sprint Championship honors at the 2008 Buckeye Super Sprint Series
Banquet on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the Holiday Inn in Westlake, Ohio.

This marks the 2nd pavement sprint car series championship for Zach Gibson in the last three years. Zach also
ran his sprint car this past season at the Oswego (NY) Classic, and also ran some non-wing sprint shows with
much success.

Zach would like to thank his sponsors; Walston Motors of Marion, Ohio and WG Lawn Service of Richwood,
Ohio.  Special thanks to Larry Gibson, and Dick Meyers; as well as Todd Ridgeway of Ridgeway Photos and
Kevin Jaycox of Buckeye Super Sprints.

Bittersweet Return For Zach Gibson at Toledo Speedway - Pulls Double Duty In Sprints
And First ARCA Start

5/15/09 - Richwood, OH………Ohio open wheel standout Zach Gibson of Richwood will be attempting to
qualify for his first ARCA RE/MAX race at Toledo Speedway on Saturday May 16th.  He will be behind the
wheel of the Wayne Peterson owned #0 for his first ever full body race car ride.  Zach is only 19 years old
and is a third generation racer.  His grandfather is Todd Gibson, a legendary supermodified driver, and his
father Larry Gibson is a former ARCA Midget Series Champion.

Young Gibson’s weekend begins with the Buckeye Super Sprints event at Toledo Speedway on Friday night
(May 15th)  in his own pavement sprint car, the #00 ‘Flintstone Flyer III”.   Gibson is the reigning 2008
Buckeye Super Sprint Champion, and is currently the series point leader.  After Friday’s sprint race he will
attempt qualifying for the ARCA RE/Max race on Saturday afternoon, then over to Flat Rock Speedway for
the Buckeye Super Sprint race that evening.  He then will be back at Toledo for Sunday’s (May 17th) ARCA
race.

Zach has won many races in his family owned #00 sprint on the Toledo high banks.  This will be extremely
emotional for return for Zach.  Last summer his uncle, Terry Gibson lost his life in a supermodified race at
Toledo Speedway.

“It’s kind of hard to say how I feel about coming back to Toledo.  I love racing there, I can win there, and it’s
really exciting to be able to race an ARCA car there.” Says Gibson, “Terry’s loss is still very painful to me
and my family, but we are a racing family, and I will continue to honor my uncle by racing the best I can for
him -- especially at Toledo, he was with me for my first win here too.”

“We have worked really hard on putting together this deal for Zach to race an ARCA car this season. It just
happened that the first opportunity he would get to do this would be at Toledo.” Say’s Zach’s dad Larry. “We
are all very excited for Zach and he wants to move up in his career so we appreciate the opportunity that
Wayne Peterson is offering. I know that it going to be hard this weekend emotionally, for all of us –
especially Zach – he was very close to his Uncle Terry, but we will be there for him.”

Zach would like to thank his sponsors for their support and helping him to make this move up into the ARCA
Re/Max Series.  They include Decker’s Mobile Home Service of Prospect, OH; Parrott Implement of
Richwood, OH; Kirby Auto Parts also of Richwood, OH; and Dotson’s Garage of Magnetic Springs, OH.  He
would also like to send a special thank you to Old School Restoration of Bellefontaine, OH.  Old School will
be repainting the #0 ARCA car with a new ‘Gibson’ style design after the race on Sunday. Look for Zach in
the #0 ARCA car and the #00 Sprint more  this season.

Zach Gibson Returns To Toledo Speedway With Emotional Buckeye
Sprint Win

5/18/09 - Richwood, OH………Third generation Ohio open wheel champ, Zach Gibson returned to Toledo
Speedway in his #00 Flintstone Flyer III, pavement sprinter for the Buckeye Super Sprint event last Friday
night. This was Zach’s first time back to the track since his Uncle Terry’s fatal accident there last July.  Zach
did his best to stay focused on his race car and fought strong emotions all day and qualified 8th fastest.

He started the feature on the outside pole with an inverted field.  While going for the early race lead,
Gibson's car began to lose water due to a hole in his radiator. Under caution the #00 team sealed the
radiator quickly in the pit and got him back out.  Re- starting in the rear, it only took Zach eight laps to
reclaim the lead and to run away with the win.  In Victory Lane he immediately got out of his car, got on his
knees, and said a tearful prayer.  He dedicated this Toledo win to his uncle Terry Gibson.

Incidentally, Zach was also at Toledo to qualify for his very first ARCA RE/MAX race in the #0 Wayne
Peterson owned Chevy.  When he showed up at Toledo the next morning, the ARCA RE/MAX garage was
buzzing about his amazing sprint car show from the previous night.  “I was walking into the ARCA RE/MAX
pit, and I ran into Frank Kimmel and he saw my race,” says Gibson, “and he seemed impressed - he told me
he’d give me some advice; that I should not expect to drive the ARCA car into the corners as hard as I did
the sprint car! That was pretty cool having Frank Kimmel say something to me about watching me win, and
gave me a little bit of closure about my coming back here and made me feel really good.”

Zach was able to go out and practice the #0 ARCA RE/MAX car; he ran 28th in practice, averaging 17.6 sec
laps. Rains came in Saturday afternoon and ARCA qualifying was canceled. Teams would end up lining up
for Sunday’s race based on owner’s points, Zach would start 28th.  That evening he was back in the
Flintstone Flyer III, and Gibson competed at Flat Rock Speedway for the Buckeye Super Sprint event.
Gibson quickly took charge and won his heat race, started fourth for the feature, and jumped to second
where he would finish.  Zach’s dad Larry stated “I should have bought new right rear, and he would have
won the race.  But I bought tires for the ARCA race and we are on a tight budget, and this was a big
weekend getting Zach ready for three races!”  Zach continues to hold a solid lead for the Buckeye Super
Sprint championship points.

On Sunday’s ARCA RE/MAX race, Zach started 28th, driving a clean race all day, he stayed on the lead lap,
and finished 27th.  Zach stated “It was a good learning experience, and I appreciate the opportunity Wayne
Peterson is giving me in the ARCA RE/MAX car and I’m looking forward to running more races for him.”

Old School will
be repainting the #0 ARCA RE/MAX car with a new ‘Gibson’ style design after the race on Sunday. Look for
Zach in the #0 ARCA RE/MAX car and the #00 Sprint more this season.

Gibson Kil Kare Master

By: Todd Ridgeway
Mid American Auto Racing News

Third generation open wheel driver Zach Gibson made a mad dash to the front grabbing the checkered flag
to win the 30 lap Buckeye Super Sprint feature for the second year in a row at Xenia Ohio’s Kil Kare
Speedway. Pole sitter young Joey Wyckoff and veteran Danny Brown brought the field to the drop of the
green flag as Brown darted out from his outside row position to the point with Ryan Gillenwater hot on his
tail dropping into second spot. Fast qualifier Gibson started in the next to last row and wasted very little
time getting to the front and challenging for the front positions. Just as Gillenwater was mounting a charge
on Brown at lap seven Gibson shot past both to move into the point and started stretching it out from there
with a commanding performance. The action was finally slowed at lap 26 as third place Talon Stephens
looped his mount coming off turn four and was retaliated to the tail for the restart. On the restart there was
no challenge as Gibson just dominated driving away easily to his fourth feature win of the 2009 season and
his second in a row as he won at Sandusky (OH) Speedway just two weeks ago. Following Gibson and
Gillenwater across the line was Stephens in third, Tommy Kunz getting his best finish of the season in
fourth, and Brown rounded out the top five. Gibson was also the fast qualifier with a one lap time of 11.659
aboard his traditional Gibson purple and yellow Flintstone Flyer III winged warrior.

“We had the set up and car to beat tonight, like last year, we like this place,” stated Gibson. “I was just
picking cars off one at a time. I love this track; there are just so many different lines you can run on the
different apexes. I really like the backstretch. Going down the backstretch you can pick a line, another
driver can pick a line and you can really race. This is our fourth win of the season and our second in a row,
we are very happy. We are just glad we are here,” finished Gibson.

ZACH GIBSON WINS SECOND STRAIGHT BUCKEYE SPRINTS
SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE FOR 2009

Marysville, OH……For the second consecutive year Zach Gibson wins the points championship for
the Buckeye Super Sprints Series.  Zach earned six feature wins, coming from Kilkare, Toledo,
Columbus and Sandusky Speedway shows. His win in Toledo in May was filled with emotion as he
came back to the track for the first time since his  Uncle Terry's fatal racing accident there in 2008.

Zach also made his first ARCA start that same weekend, and continued to run a few more ARCA
races while still pulling double duty in his sprint car.  This paid off in the end with Gibson clinching
the 2009 Buckeye Championship in August at Columbus, in which he had a spectacular wreck that
severely damaged his Gibson built sprint car and he himself sustained a broken rib.  The final
Buckeye points lead for the young Gibson was 735 pts. over second place 680 pts. of Ryan
Gillenwater.

Zach Gibson will recieve championship honors at the Buckeye Super Sprint Series awards
Banquet on January 30th, 2010 in Sandusky, OH.
